Released in 2003, Devil May Cry 2 introduces a secondary playable character - a redheaded femme fatale named Lucia - who possesses the skill to slash demons with her scalpel-sharp scimitars. Each of these hack-and-slash action games stars Dante, an antihero of sorts, whose mother was human and whose father was a dark lord named Sparda. This set brings together the first three cinematic and single-player Capcom games from the series: Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening (Special Edition). Whether or not you recall playing these celebrated gothic adventures on the PlayStation 2 - released between 20 - DEVIL MAY CRY: HD COLLECTION features all three award-winning titles with remastered graphics and other extras.
This collection only has Devil May Cry (the first not the reboot),Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3 which have moderate to barely high violence,mild swearing,mild suggestive themes, and mild edginess compared to the reboot. Also Kristen the politician and corrupt news (same with hookers) are only in the reboot and the reboot is not in the collection and its called DMC: Devil May Cry.
I played the 1st and 3rd when I was like 7 or 8 and the game didn't really bothered me and if I watched FMA at the same age (If FMA Brotherhood was created at the time) it would scare me more than this game since FMA Brotherhood and manga has more mature content and traumatizing scenes.

Plus the games aren't that scary and the "hookers" that you mentioned Kristen are only in the reboot. FMA (manga and Brotherhood) is actually even more not for kids than the DMC series because the DMC series's mature content isn't really that shocking at all (except the reboot sometimes).

Yomimaru Full Metal Alchemist (manga and Brotherhood ) is actually more graphic because FMA (manga and Brotherhood) has scenes like a young girl getting fused into her own dog and dies (even more traumatizing than anything from the DMC series). The violence isn't as bad as the other games you know (Dead Space and Silent Hill) as Devil May Cry's violence is all fantasy like and not really that graphic. its not that edgy and first of all the swearing is very mild (I think you're confusing the 3 games with the reboot). Its not that bad since its all about fantasy stuff and fighting demons.
